Fashion156.com – The magazine that showcases and supports new emerging talent and places it alongside the established.

Fashion156.com is the online magazine that provides a celebratory platform for emerging talent, alongside the established. Launched in 2006 by Guy Hipwell, Founding Editor and Creative Director, the site presents monthly themed issues that are centred around directional editorial style photo shoots.

A Daily Blog and reports from the international shows on a dedicated Collections section,  provide a constant stream of information on Fashion156.com’s pages in real time, and has helped shape the careers of some of London’s most inspiring creatives.

“I kept discovering these amazing new designers and fresh graduates bursting out of universities and wanted to showcase their work in my shoots. Even though I was styling for some quite directional titles as a freelancer – sometimes I would be handed a list of ‘advertisers’ that somehow had to be included in the story – often the collection did not even fit the shoot theme.  So really you could say Fashion156 came about due to frustration and now it is my decision if  we feature a new student’s work on our covers. That is what inspires me the most and every day I continue the search for something new, always trying to evolve and move F156 forward.”

The site aims to challenge dictatorial journalism, the notion of celebrity, the identikit clone and those who fall victim to fashion, rather than freely enjoy it. Fashion156.com presents fashion and style in a realistic, authentic and approachable manner, showcasing the work of more avant-garde designers, the freshest graduates and the most desirable pieces from the established collections.

Fashion156.com is for anyone interested in fashion, interested in making it their own and open to informing their constantly-evolving style. Used by the industry as a research tool for the latest designers graduating from the UK’s colleges and universities, Fashion156.com also has a large student following; those wishing to be part of the fashion industry, those wishing to create beautiful garments or those simply looking to be inspired.
