ART DIRECTOR – GIUSEPPE MASTROMATTEO

Already known for his surreal style of work, Italian art director Giuseppe Mastromatteo’s two part series “Indepensense” explores the human body and identity through photography and simple image manipulation. With nude humans as the subject, the images are scarily lifeless – eyes and ears are placed on arms and hands with skin colour merges from dark to light.

Giuseppe’s imagery brings up sensitivity and the rawness of the human body.  The exquisiteness of each image is not only beautiful but intriguing just the same and I can’t help but think of equality and identity of the modern day when I look at the series.
