ARTIST – HENRIQUE OLIVEIRA

Henrique Oliveira’s sculptures are like caves or something from a completely different planet. I find these sculptures so captivating, simply because they are otherworldly. Oliveira’s work is made out of materials which include PVC, plywood and synthetic foam.

I particularly like the fact that these sculptures do not make sense. They look like formless blobs or abstract ideas visually represented. The orange sculpture is particularly hard to describe, its like a house or little community. But, I think the foreignness of the sculptures make them so enthralling to the viewer.

The sculptures are so overwhelming massive, to the extent that they demand attention. In fact, one of the sculptures spills out of the interior of which it is located, which can be seen in one of the photographs above.
