COLLAGE ARTIST – EMMANUEL POLANCO/ 17.08.12

In melancholia is the work of Paris base fine collage artist Emmanuel Polanco. Despite his imagery being digitally formed he has managed to maintain a raw and tactile element.

 

 

The imagery captures bizarre twisted scenarios. The cut out faces project an airy feel. I cannot help but probe in curiosity about what each collage portrays. The use of intestines presents an unusual gore, provoking a reaction and memory.

 

 

What intrigues me most about Emmanuel’s artworks is the use of reoccurring crows. In astrology crows symbolize the evil planet Saturn, much to the contradictory use of praying hands within Emmanuel’s art works. Thought provoking fine art always manages to captivate me for hours and Emmanuel’s collages are no exception.
