DESIGNER – MANUELA DACK SS12/ 07.11.11

Manuela Dack’s SS12 collection follows on, I’ve noticed, in a similar vein to her AW11 style – elegant, but with enough of an edge to make you do a double take.

 

As usual, the devil is in the details, and as I am always a fan of unusual cuts of fabric, the white shirt with the cut out back to it is a real standout piece for me. I particularly like the dresses – demure and elegant from the front, with skin-flashing harness back to take you by surprise on the other side. A sheer top half ups its game with neon straps peeking through, and the silhouette of a white skirt is transformed by wild fringing. It’s a consistent and well thought out collection, which takes classic style and adds real originality with some quirky twists.
